Leak Protection Survey

Tri-County Rural Water & Sewer District has been exploring options to better serve our customers. One promising option we have found is a program called ServLine which is a leak protection plan. A survey was sent out with the bills due May 10th to gauge the interest in this program.

Here is how the program would work:

A TCRW customer would be automatically enrolled in the program but could call either ServLine or TCRW to be opted out. If the customer does not opt out, a fee of up to $2.35 a month would be added to their water bill for the program. The customer could opt out for up to a year with full reimbursement. For customers who stay in the program, they will call ServLine if they have a leak that results in at least twice the average water bill for the last 12 months. The customer could have up to $2,500.00 in coverage for 1 adjustment per 12-month period.  After contacting ServLine, the customer may be required to provide proof that the leak has been fixed and answer some questions. If ServLine determines that the leak meets their qualifying standards, the customer would only pay their average water bill and ServLine would pay the remaining amount from the leak up to $2,500.00

This program is not eligible for commercial or industrial customers and an adjustment would not be made for abandoned property or if maintenance on the plumbing is not regularly checked. Filling a swimming pool or leak on a swimming pool would not qualify for an adjustment as well. Along with leaks on irrigation systems, water features (fountains), lines coming off primary water line, and any structure besides the main residence would not be covered.
